God Equip Ministries was founded by Evangelist Brendon Roper and registered on 11th February 2023.

Twenty six years prior, on the 21st March 1997 after a fourteen year drug addiction, the last three of which included crack cocaine, while doing crack with two friends, coughed up chunks of blood, went home immediately, fell on his knees and said:" God if you there and Jesus if you are real, I need your help."

He felt a strange peace come over him and a thought entered his mind, everything is going to be okay.

Without realising it, at that moment, he was supernaturally delivered from the crack cocaine addiction and healed from whatever caused him to cough up chunks of blood. *As it is written: “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. “Romans 10:13 NKJV*

Three days later he only came to the realization that he hadn't had any cravings and on the day crossed paths with a friend, that was a notorious ex gangster from a community called Wetbury in Johannesburg South Africa and that he hadn't seen for years.

The friend and his wife ministered the word of God to him and this led to his friend asking if they could have a service at his home the coming Thursday, which he agreed to.

That evening the Pastor from the church ministered a messaged titled God Knew You Before You Were Born, from the book of Jeremiah 1:5 and Brendon became overwhelmed at the fact that God knew him before he was born.

During the service tears streamed down his face and when the Pastor gave the opportunity to receive Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour, he responded.

It is because of this that God Equip Ministries has incorporated Evangelistic Home Fellowship group training as part of its vision, equipping ministries to take the church to the people instead of waiting for them to come to the church.

A short while after receiving the free gift of salvation, while attending a service at Rhema Bible Church in Randburg with a friend who invited him, they mentioned that they were having water baptism after both morning services and his friend encouraged him to be get water baptised which he  did that day.

During that same year in 1997 a few months after responding to an altar call for it at a church service one evening, that he was invited to by friends at a ministry called Living Word Church Randburg, Brendon received the manifestation of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in his bedroom.

Brendon was a member of and attended church at what was then known as Jesus Celebration  Centre in Maraisburg, the ministry of the Pastor through which he received his salvation.

The ministry was an evangelistic ministry and when they announced that they were doing a trip to Nairobi Kenya to attend a crusade there where the then Evangelist, now Bishop Harold F Edwards the head minister would be ministering as well, he felt a prompting to join the trip.

It was clearly the Lord’s will for him to attend that crusade in Nairobi as the Lord supernaturally provided for the trip and at the end of the tent crusade, held in Uhuru Park by Faith Evangelistic Ministries (F.E.M), by then Evangelist now Reverend Teresa Wairimu, that there was an altar call for all those who believed that they were called to ministry.

Brendon amongst hundreds of others responded to the call after having felt a prompting early that week that he was called to ministry but then returned to his seat doubting the call on his life, which the Lord confirmed through a direct prophetic word to him, at that very moment.

There has since been numerous prophesies over the years confirming the call upon his life.

It is because of this experience as well as serving in Jesus Celebration Centre in South Africa that has placed a passion for, in the heart of Brendon and led him to serve throughout his years of ministry in tent crusades.
